Job summary

Zurich E&S is hiring an experienced UA Manager to join our Casualty Wholesale team. The role is based in Atlanta, GA, Scottsdale, AZ, Rocky Hill, CT or NYC with a hybrid work arrangement requiring in-office presence three days a week.

You will lead 7-10 UA Associates, drive underwriting discipline, and elevate operational performance. Travel to offices where associates sit is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice pathway also valid with 4+ years in relevant area.
• High School Diploma plus 6+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess underwriting processes and implement technical standards and controls.
• Follow up with producers about status of new business and renewals.
• Perform customer service and account management tasks as needed.
• Participate in key account relationships with Underwriters.
• Lead performance evaluations and development plans for staff.
• Make staffing decisions and motivate staff for client service excellence.
• Cross-train to support multiple workflows and improve operations.
• Lead teamwork and huddle sessions; build broad relationships across the business.
• Onboard and train Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.
