Job summary

Zurich E&S is hiring an experienced UA Manager to join our Casualty Wholesale team in Atlanta, GA, Scottsdale, AZ, Rocky Hill, CT or NYC. The role offers hybrid work with three days in the office and some travel to associate offices.

You will lead a 7–10 person team, drive underwriting discipline, and partner with managers to optimize performance and client service. The UA Manager will coach and develop associates, build cross-functional relationships, and ensure staff meet performance metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area AND
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and regulatory environment

Responsibilities

• Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess underwriting processes to implement technical standards, controls, practices and procedures.
• Follow up with producers to discuss status of new business, renewals and actions.
• Provide customer service and account management, including billing issues and policy changes.
• Participate in key account relationships in person or via teleconference with Underwriters.
• Conduct performance evaluations and career development conversations with staff.
• Make staffing decisions and delegate tasks to motivate staff for client service.
• Build underwriting skills and knowledge through cross-training and process learning.
• Lead team huddles and cross-team collaboration for operational effectiveness.
• Onboard and train new Underwriting Associates and Underwriters.
• Act as SME for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and performance.
