Job summary

AAA-The Auto Club Group is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to manage high-exposure state and federal cases. This is primarily a remote role with in-person court appearances and periodic office reporting in Chicago.

You will handle case evaluation, discovery, motions, and trial preparation, coordinating with Claims and expert teams throughout the state. Excellent analytical and advocacy skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and reviews allegations; renders opinions to Claims regarding injury-case evaluation.
• Prepares responses to civil complaints and answers motions in disputes of law or liability.
• Determines feasibility of defendants in pending suits, including third parties.
• Conducts discovery: depositions, interrogatories, and requests for admission.
• Reviews insurance policies and all pertinent documents.
• Selects legal investigators and arranges service of subpoenas and summonses.
• Files additional motions as facts and timing warrant.
• Reviews medical data; consults with medical and reconstruction specialists.
• Analyzes discovery information to determine settlements in insureds' and Company's best interests.
• Prepares uninsured/underinsured motorist cases for trial or arbitration.
• Prepares and submits pre-trial statements; attends hearings and jury selection.
• Handles cases involving bad faith, exemplary damages, and coverage issues.
• Acts as co-counsel in high-exposure litigation statewide; handles catastrophic loss litigation.
