Job summary
Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead transportation projects across the Gulf Region, including Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The role requires a PE license, a Civil Engineering degree, and 10+ years in roadway design or transportation planning.
You will manage client relationships, guide project teams, and oversee budgets, schedules, and quality control across all phases of work.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years in roadway design, traffic engineering, or transportation planning.
- PE license and Civil Engineering degree required.
- Experience with state DOTs, meeting standards, schedules, and budgets.
- Strong knowledge of DOT design methods, plan prep, and specifications.
- Proven ability to manage medium to large, multi-office projects and client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of transportation projects for state DOTs and municipalities, including roadway design and traffic analysis.
- Serve as primary client contact, maintaining relationships with DOTs and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
- Prepare and track project documentation, contracts, change orders, and approvals.
- Oversee project financial performance including forecasting, invoicing, and PO management.
