Job summary

Volkert is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to support our Gulf Region located in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. You will provide project management and plan reviews for Volkert clients in Alabama and coordinate schedules, budgets, and deliverables. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in transportation engineering, a B.S.

or M.S. in Civil Engineering, and an Alabama PE license. You will lead design teams, interact with clients, and help develop junior staff while adhering

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with progressive growth in project responsibilities.
• Alabama Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Experience with industry software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, ArcGIS, Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, or HCS.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain project schedules and travel as needed.
• Must be dependable and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and plan review for Volkert clients in Alabama.
• Organize activities, schedules, and reports for transportation projects.
• Lead or assist in developing project designs and direct designers to deliver work.
• Provide technical design guidance on roadway design, traffic operations, and planning.
• Prepare engineering studies, documents, and reports.
• Manage project budgets and contracts through all phases.
• Attend meetings and interact with clients and the public.
