Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead transportation programs across the Gulf Region (AL/MS/TN). Ten or more years in roadway design or traffic/transport planning are required, with a PE license and DOT project experience.

You will manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing, while engaging clients and stakeholders, and guiding project teams to successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license.
• 10+ years in roadway design, traffic engineering, or transportation planning.
• Experience with state DOTs and meeting schedules/budgets.
• Strong knowledge of DOT design methods and standards.
• Proven success managing medium to large projects and client relationships.
• Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, Geopak, Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of transportation projects for state DOTs and local municipalities.
• Act as primary client contact; build relationships with DOTs and stakeholders.
• Manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing for projects.
• Prepare contracts, change orders, and client approvals across project phases.
• Oversee project financials: forecasting, invoicing, POs, AR.
• Prepare reports, meetings minutes, and client/vendor communications.
• Support submittals and bidding activities; ensure QA/QC processes.
