Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead multi-state transportation projects in the Gulf Region, including Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The role requires 10+ years in roadway design or traffic engineering and PE licensure.

You will manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and client relationships with state DOTs and municipalities, while mentoring teams and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 10+ years in roadway design, traffic engineering, or transportation planning.
• Experience with state DOTs, meeting standards, schedules and budgets.
• Proficiency with design and traffic analysis tools listed.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation projects for state DOTs and municipalities, including roadway design and traffic analysis.
• Serve as primary client contact and maintain relationships with DOTs and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing.
• Prepare contracts, change orders, and client approvals for all phases.
• Oversee project financials: forecasting, invoicing, PO, AR.
• Prepare reports, meeting notes, and presentations for clients and agencies.
• Support submittals and bidding activities; ensure QA/QC.
• Mentor project teams and support business development efforts.
