Job summary

HDR is an employee‑owned firm delivering projects that shape communities. As Principal Transportation Project Manager you will lead single or multi‑discipline teams through the full project lifecycle, from development to close‑out, while guiding scope, schedule and budget.

You will build client relations, participate in marketing and contractual meetings, supervise large project staffs, mentor junior managers, and implement QA/QC procedures within HDR’s inclusive, employee‑owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 15 years related experience; a minimum of 7 years project management experience.
• Requires Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board.
• MS Office and MS Project experience required; Access experience a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.
• Commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams through the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out).
• Responsible for any project assignment regardless of size, visibility, number of disciplines, technical complexity or number of staff.
• Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
• Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
• Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with other staff and stakeholders.
• Coordinate staffing and workload through the project life cycle, ensuring deliverables on schedule.
• Track financial aspects and coordinate with team to stay within budget and schedule.
• Work with Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for project reviews.
• Implement QA/QC procedures.
• Supervise large project staffs and mentor less-experienced Project Managers.
• Perform other duties as needed.
