Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity across transportation projects. You will direct planning, execution, and governance, coordinating engineers, planners, environmental scientists and construction managers to deliver value for clients.

You will mentor teams, manage risks, align stakeholders, and ensure contract compliance while pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or closely related field.
• Official licenses/certifications: PE or P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, or CCM.
• 10 years program management experience, incl. 4+ years as Senior Program Manager on three or more programs each worth $500M+.
• Experience delivering concurrent programs totaling $500M+; PMO experience with consultant and client teams.
• Strong leadership and cross-location team management.
• Excellent communication; comfortable presenting to executives.
• Experience with DB/DBFM/CMAR delivery methods.
• Familiar with PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, etc.
• Experience collaborating with client and consultant teams in PMO.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects.
• Plan, direct, and monitor all program execution across numerous disciplines.
• Identify issues and risks; provide strategic advice and problem-solving.
• Develop and implement program management plans, startup plans, and work plans.
• Direct services by multiple large program teams or lead a mega-project.
• Promote team alignment via regular communications.
• Secure resources to deliver contracted scope.
• Monitor team performance and QA/QC.
• Monitor financial performance against targets.
• Support HDR’s growth by mentoring staff and pursuing new opportunities.
