Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead large, complex transportation programs across multiple disciplines. The role advances the delivery of iconic projects and requires coordinating diverse teams, advising clients on technical and regulatory matters, and ensuring program success.

You will be part of HDR’s Transportation Leadership team, contributing to strategic delivery, program governance, risk management, and financial performance across multiple locations in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field required.
• Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Professional certifications (PE, PMP, PgMP, AICP, CCM) preferred.
• Experience leading large transportation/infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial and community aspects of programs.
• Plan, direct, and monitor program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify issues/risks and assist in problem-solving and decision-making.
• Develop program management plans, startup plans and work plans.
• Direct services by large program teams or single mega-project.
• Promote alignment through regular communications within the team.
• Secure resources to deliver contract scope while ensuring compliance.
• Monitor QA/QC program and financial performance against targets.
• Contribute to growth of HDR’s program management services.
