Job summary

HDR, a global engineering and design firm, is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs within the Transportation group. You will advise clients, manage complex projects, and guide teams across locations to deliver high-value programs on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in program management; at least 4 years as a Senior Program Manager.
• Professional licenses/certifications: PE/P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, or CCM.
• Experience delivering three or more programs with $500M+ capital value; concurrent programs count.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial and community aspects.
• Plan, direct, and monitor program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify risks, provide strategic guidance, and allocate resources.
• Develop program management plans, startup plans, and governance structures.
• Direct large program teams or mega-project delivery and ensure alignment.
• Ensure contract compliance and secure required resources.
• Monitor team performance and implement QA/QC processes.
• Oversee financial performance against targets and drive profitability.
• Foster growth of HDR’s program management services and mentor staff.
