Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure programs within our Transportation group. You will supervise cross-disciplinary teams, advise clients on technical and regulatory aspects, and drive program governance from planning through delivery.

Ideal candidates bring a decade of program management experience, PE/PMP/PgMP/AICP/CCM credentials, and strong leadership with proven client management and risk mitigation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or closely related field.
• 10+ years in program management with 4+ years as a Senior Program Manager.
• Licenses/certifications: PE/P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, or CCM.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects.
• Plan, direct, and monitor program execution across diverse disciplines.
• Identify risks and provide strategic issue resolution and mitigation.
• Develop programs, startup plans, and governance frameworks for transparency.
• Provide day-to-day leadership on large program teams or mega-projects.
• Ensure alignment through effective communications within the team.
• Secure resources to meet contract scope and compliance.
• Monitor QA/QC and financial performance against targets.
• Grow HDR’s PM services by client advisory and cross-sell opportunities.
• Mentor staff and contribute to practice-wide initiatives.
