Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead roadway design teams on municipal and state projects. You will manage client communications, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with consultants, while mentoring junior staff.

Ideal candidates hold a BS/MS in Civil Engineering, 12+ years in engineering, TXDOT roadway design experience, 5+ years PM, and a TX P.E. license. This client‑facing role offers strong growth with our CTRMA GEC Team.

Qualifications

• BS and/or MS in Civil Engineering.
• 12+ years of engineering experience.
• Must have TxDOT highway/roadway design experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience
• Direct knowledge of Project Development, Schematic and PS&E processes is essential.
• P.E. license in TX is required.

Responsibilities

• Execution of procured transportation projects by leading engineering design, coordination with design staff on project components, client interactions, and project management tasks.
• Schedules and coordinates project meetings with the project team, regulatory agencies, the client, and others involved with the projects.
• Manages project production by tracking charging of manhours, costs and expenses to projects, and communicates project progress/status to senior management.
• Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with supporting consultants and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
• Directs project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitors subcontractors' compliance with contractual commitments.
• Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget and quality objectives.
