Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Director in Transportation to spearhead pursuit and execution of large-scale design-build and P3 projects. You will lead cross‑disciplinary teams, coordinate with HDR leadership, and manage client relationships to deliver complex infrastructure programs that move people and goods safely and efficiently.

Based in the United States with potential travel; HDR emphasizes its employee-owned culture and collaborative matrix across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of related field experience in transportation infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or architectural/engineering license preferred.
• Experience leading large teams and client relationships in complex projects.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director for pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals in compliance with HDR policies; coordinate with Risk Committee and Authority matrices.
• Collaborate with HDR groups on policy, staffing, contractor relationships, and contract terms.
• Negotiate contracts and subcontracts with engineering and construction entities.
• Engage with leadership to discuss client relationships and upcoming AD projects.
• Lead and participate in industry associations to raise HDR visibility.
• Provide ongoing coaching and development for HDR staff and leadership.
