Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive data‑driven CI across operations. The role focuses on applying Lean and engineering methods to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost, interfacing with employees at all levels and functions.

The engineer will lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and cross-functional projects to deliver sustained results. Responsibilities include collecting data, performing analyses, developing improvement plans, and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years in Transportation or Supply Chain industry.
• Transportation experience (FTL/LTL).
• MS Office Suite with Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio (Expert).
• Data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau) and SQL/DAX experience (Intermediate).
• Lean methodologies: PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S.
• Knowledge of dedicated services and managed transportation networks; use of tools like JDA, Appian, Tableau/Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead CI projects and ongoing process improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Manage CI and engineering projects including go-live and certifications; support automation initiatives.
• Coach teams in CI/Lean methods and sustainment through Kaizen events and A3 charters.
• Develop and present data-driven reports to measure progress against site objectives.
• Collaborate with operations management and customers to drive value.
