Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive data-driven CI across our operations. You will apply engineering methods, lean tools and data analytics to deliver higher safety, quality, delivery and cost performance.

The role interfaces with employees at all levels and aligns with Operations Management. You will lead CI and engineering projects, coach teams in lean principles, map value streams, and support automation initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Required).
5+ years in related work experience in Transportation or Supply Chain (Required).
Transportation experience is necessary (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL) (Required).
Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio (Expert, Required).
Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and database programming (SQL, DAX, etc.) (Intermediate, Preferred).
Lean methodologies and tools, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization (Beginner-Required).
Knowledge of transportation design tools and networks (Intermediate, Preferred).

Responsibilities

Collects data and performs statistical analysis. Maps and documents processes; identifies gaps and implements CI plans.
Manages CI projects that improve safety, quality, delivery and cost; supports go-live and steady-state certifications.
Develops competency in a wide range of engineering methods and coaches others in CI and Lean.
Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events; sustains improvements through follow-up.
Provides regular progress reports and makes supply chain strategy recommendations.
