Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive data-driven CI, engineering, and automation initiatives across operations. You will identify change opportunities and lead projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost, interfacing with employees at all levels.

The role requires applying lean methods, coaching teams, and delivering tangible improvements using data analytics and engineering techniques. Travel and cross-functional collaboration are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field.
• 5+ years in transportation or supply chain industry.
• Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio.
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
• Lean methods and CI tools such as PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analyses; maps processes and identifies gaps.
• Develops and manages continuous improvement plans to drive value for customers.
• Lead CI and engineering projects; support go-live and steady-state certifications; identify automation opportunities.
• Coach employees in CI and Lean principles and apply methods like slotting and flow optimization.
• Provide regular data reports to measure progress against site objectives and recommend strategy.
