Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply CI methods to lift safety, quality, delivery, and cost across operations. You will leverage data analytics and lean tools to identify root causes and drive change with cross-functional teams.

The role requires hands-on CI project leadership, coaching on lean principles, and strong communication as you partner with operations management to deliver tangible improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Required).
• 5+ years in Transportation or Supply Chain industry (Required).
• Transportation experience including Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL (Required).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (Expert).
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and SQL/DAX knowledge (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps and documents processes; identifies gaps and implements CI plans.
• Manages CI and steady-state projects; supports go-live, certifications, and automation initiatives.
• Develops a wide range of engineering methods, lean tools, and coaching on CI/Lean principles.
• Leads Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events; sustains results through follow-up.
• Provides regular data reports and recommendations to measure site progress.
