Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to join our ESSP team, delivering transmission studies, power flow and stability analyses across complex grids. This role supports projects from multiple US offices, including Fort Worth, Denver, Orlando, Phoenix and more, and may be performed remotely where appropriate.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare technical reports, and contribute to proposals while upholding QA/QC and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of direct experience in transmission planning studies.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities with teams and clients.
• Experience automating planning tasks and using engineering judgement.
• US residency and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform or lead transmission planning studies and prepare relevant reports.
• Collaborate with and mentor junior engineers.
• Support business development activities and client meetings.
• Identify efficiency improvements using automation and AI tools.
