Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to join our ESSP team, based in Denver, CO, with consideration for Phoenix and other US offices. You will collaborate with seasoned planners to deliver studies and develop reliable energy infrastructure.

The candidate will bring 7–10 years of experience in power system analysis, manage multiple projects, mentor juniors, and contribute to client-ready documentation and reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Engineer in Training Certification.
7–10 years of experience in power system studies.
Hands-on experience with PSS/E, PSLF, and PSCAD.
Ability to balance multiple projects with engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

Perform transmission planning studies including power flow and contingency analysis.
Develop and document study assumptions, findings, and recommendations.
Lead quality control reviews of work from other engineers.
Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver planning solutions.
Maintain knowledge of industry guides and standards.
Support business development, including proposals and client meetings.
Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
