Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to join our Electrical Studies, SCADA, and Protection team in Denver, Colorado. The role also considers candidates for offices nationwide or fully remote, expanding our capacity to deliver reliable energy infrastructure.

You will support transmission planning studies, model development, and high-quality documentation, collaborating with engineers and clients while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• 7–10 years of direct experience in transmission planning studies and stability analysis.
• Experience with multiple power system software packages (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, etc.).
• Ability to automate changes and balance planning cases with engineering judgement.

Responsibilities

• Perform or lead transmission planning studies and analyses.
• Prepare reports with study assumptions, findings and recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team collaboration.
• Contribute to business development activities and client meetings.
• Improve efficiency using automation and AI tools.
