Job summary
WSP is seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to join our Electrical Studies, SCADA, and Protection team, based in the Denver, CO area with consideration for multiple locations and fully remote options. The role involves delivering planning projects, developing models, and mentoring junior staff to support reliable energy infrastructure.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- 7–10 years of direct experience in steady state contingency and stability analysis of large power systems.
- Hands-on experience with multiple power system software packages (PSS/E, PSLF, DSA Tools, TARA, PowerWorld, ASPEN, PSCAD).
- Ability to automate changes and rebalance planning cases with engineering judgement.
- Must reside and work within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Perform or lead transmission planning studies, including power flow and contingency analysis.
- Execute tasks within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare reports with study assumptions, findings, and recommendations.
- Quality control reviews of work prepared by others.
- Mentor junior engineers to develop the transmission planning team.
