Job summary

WSP seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead high-voltage overhead projects up to 765 kV, with flexible work options including remote or Southeast office collaboration. The role emphasizes planning, design, delivery, and staff mentorship within a dynamic Power Delivery team.

You will coordinate with clients, manage schedules, and enforce QA/QC and safety standards while applying PLS-CADD and related tools. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of post-education experience in electrical transmission design for capital projects.
• PE license; multi-state preferred and strong knowledge of applicable standards.
• Experience with NESC, RUS, GO-95, and PLS-CADD operations.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication; MS Office proficiency.
• Commitment to safety and WSP policies; ability to lead teams and manage projects.
• MBA is a plus for project leadership and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering of transmission projects up to 765 kV and drive design quality.
• Develop initial project execution layouts and schedules for efficient delivery.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules and milestones.
• Facilitate weekly/bi-weekly meetings with clear deliverables and owners.
• Coordinate with clients on status and adjust scope as needed.
• Maintain cross-disciplinary workflow and strong internal/external communication.
• Forecast resource needs to support project planning and staffing.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence and safety standards throughout the project.
• Participate in industry conferences for knowledge transfer and growth.
• Demonstrate and apply PLS-CADD design expertise and related tools.
• Lead project teams of varying sizes and travel to sites as needed.
