Job summary

Qualus seeks a Senior Engineer, Overhead Transmission Line Design to lead planning, directing civil/structural analyses, and project completion for distribution and high voltage lines. Roles may be based in Salt Lake City, UT, Reno, NV, or remote, with travel up to 15%.

The ideal candidate holds 5–10+ years in overhead line design, a ABET-accredited BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical Eng, and PE eligibility. Knowledge of PLS tools and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Eng from ABET-accredited school.
• 5-10+ years of overhead transmission line design experience.
• Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions at strategic and functional levels.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations, drawings, contracts, specs for distribution and/or transmission lines.
• Perform civil/structural analyses and design for lines through 500kV.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables and coordinate design reviews.
• Create and support drawing packages for bidding, construction, as-built, and submittals.
• Coordinate construction activities with technical support and timely submittal reviews.
• Develop training modules as directed by the Principal Engineer.
