Job summary

Qualus Corporation in the United States is seeking a Senior Engineer, Overhead Transmission Line Design, in the Transmission Line Engineering Department to lead planning, analysis, and design for distribution and high-voltage lines up to 500kV.

The role requires 5–10+ years of experience, a ABET-accredited BS, PE eligibility, strong CAD and surveying skills, and travel up to 15% with occasional remote work options.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of engineering principles and practices across training projects.
• 5–10+ years of overhead transmission line design experience.
• ABET-accredited BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical engineering or related field.
• PE licensed or able to obtain PE in California.
• Willing to travel up to 15% and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations, drawings, contracts, and specs for distribution or transmission lines.
• Perform civil/structural analyses for lines up to 500kV.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables and drawing packages.
• Coordinate design reviews and provide technical direction to team members.
• Support business development and project management with budgets and schedules.
