Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal to join the Power Delivery Practice as part of HDR’s Alternative Delivery leadership team. The role focuses on pursuing and delivering EPC projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with partners and HDR leads.

You will guide technical risk analysis, value engineering, and early FEED efforts, while mentoring remote engineering teams and ensuring quality deliverables for complex transmission line projects up to 500 kV.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in transmission design.
• 5+ years of leading EPC engineering teams.
• Experience with transmission line design, procurement and construction.
• Travel up to 20% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pursuit Champion/Manager on Transmission EPC projects.
• Transition awarded projects to Project Manager and execution team.
• Lead risk analysis discussions and value engineering.
• Develop scope, schedule and budget for AD projects.
• Coordinate with land survey, geotechnical, real estate and GIS teams.
• Support FEED development and project handoffs.
• Create and maintain design templates, standards and templates.
