Job summary

HDR seeks a Transmission EPC Principal to lead pursuit and early design activities in HDR's Power Delivery Practice. The role partners with HDR's global staff and construction teams to optimize technical risk, scope, schedule and budget for high‑voltage transmission projects.

The position emphasizes leadership of dispersed engineering teams, FEED development, and collaboration across land, survey, geotech, GIS, and environmental groups to drive opportunities from pursuit to execution in a

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineering License required/preferred.
PMI PMP certification is preferred.
10 years of transmission design experience.
5+ years leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, MFAD and LPILE.
Experience developing EPC design and construction packages.
Experience in transmission line design, procurement and construction.

Responsibilities

Serve as Pursuit Champion on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution.
Lead risk analysis discussions with partners and HDR leads.
Develop scope, schedule and budget for AD projects with stakeholders.
Interface with contractors and subconsultants on risk and mitigation.
Support Go/No-Go decisions and SOQ/proposal activities.
Help build FEED teams for growing AD program.
Provide technical leadership as engineering manager or discipline lead.
Create standards and templates for pursuit and project delivery.
