Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission EPC Principal to join our national Alternative Delivery leadership. You will drive pursuit, risk analysis, and technical bid development for transmission EPC projects, coordinating with partners and HDR leads across multiple regions.

This role emphasizes FEED, scope and budget control, and handoff to execution teams. You will mentor engineers, develop templates and standards, and contribute to front-end engineering and design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• 10 years of experience in transmission design.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
• Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, MFAD and LPILE.
• 5+ years developing engineering scope, schedule and budget on EPC projects.
• Experience delivering EPC design and construction packages.
• Experience in transmission design, procurement and construction up to 500kV.
• Experience with routing, structure spotting, material selection and foundation plans.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pursuit Champion/Manager on Transmission EPC projects.
• Lead scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects.
• Coordinate with land survey, geotechnical, GIS, and other teams.
• Support risk analysis, VE, constructability and takeoff.
• Handover to Project Manager after award and ensure proper transition.
