Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission EPC Principal to join our national Alternative Delivery Leadership Team. You will drive pursuit-to-execution on transmission EPC projects, coordinating with HDR's global power delivery staff and construction partners.

You will lead risk analyses, scope, schedule and budget development, and mentor engineering teams while shaping FEED templates and best practices. Up to 20% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• 10 years of experience in transmission design.
• 5 years leading EPC engineering teams.
• Experience developing EPC design and construction packages.
• Experience designing transmission lines up to 500kV.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition duties to Project Manager after award.
• Facilitate discussion on risk analysis, routing design, bill-of-material takeoff, and VE solutions.
• Lead scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects and coordinate with land survey, geotech, GIS and other teams.
• Estimate technical investments and share risk evaluations with leadership to decide pursuit viability.
• Interface with contractors and subconsultants during pursuit and project phases.
• Assist in Go/No-Go discussions, risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews and negotiations.
• Develop FEED templates and standards to support EPC pursuits and projects.
