Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal to lead pursuit development and EPC project execution within the Power Delivery Practice. The role focuses on risk analysis, design routing, BOM support, and coordination with partners and HDR leads.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, PE license, and ~10+ years in transmission design, with 5+ years leading EPC teams. Up to 20% travel is expected across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering and PE license.
• 10+ years of experience in transmission design and EPC projects.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing scope, schedule and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pursuit Champion/Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to Project Manager after award.
• Lead risk analysis, design routing and BOM takeoff support; provide value engineering and constructability solutions.
• Develop scope, schedule and budget estimates for AD projects; coordinate with land survey, geotech, GIS and other staff.
• Interface with contractors and subconsultants to discuss risk identification and mitigation during pursuit and project execution.
• Contribute to templates, standards, drawings, and procedures to support EPC pursuits and projects.
