Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal to lead pursuit, risk management and project delivery for AD programs. The role focuses on technical bid development, estimating and transitions from pursuit to execution with HDR’s partners and staff.

You will guide scope, schedule and budget, supervise engineering teams, and coordinate with environmental, real estate and GIS groups to optimize EPC design and construction across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in transmission design and ≥5 years leading EPC teams.
• Experience with EPC design, procurement and construction packages.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pursuit Champion on Transmission EPC projects and transition to project team after award.
• Lead risk analysis, routing discussions and bill‑of‑materials support with partners.
• Develop scope, schedule and budget for AD projects; coordinate with multiple disciplines.
• Support Go/No-Go decisions, risk assessments, SOQs, and proposals as needed.
• Help build FEED teams and templates; mentor Project Managers and discipline leads.
• Provide technical leadership in engineering scope development and design packages.
• Collaborate with land survey, geotech, environmental, GIS, real estate teams.
