Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead the design of complex transmission line projects from concept through design completion, supervising our technical staff in a fast-paced environment. This role will require coordinating with project managers, vendors, and clients to ensure design integrity and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has ABET-accredited engineering credentials and 7+ years in transmission engineering, with strong knowledge of NESC/NERC/FERC

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree and 7+ years in transmission engineering.
• Experience leading large transmission projects.
• Familiarity with NESC, NERC, FERC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission design from concept to design completion.
• Prepare equipment specs and data sheets, RFQs and bid summaries.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers and clients.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers.
