Job summary

Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, architecture, construction and environmental firm, invites applications for an Overhead Transmission Project Engineer in our Transmission & Distribution Group. You will lead design efforts on 69kV to 500kV projects, mentor team members, and act as the primary technical contact for clients.

Candidates should hold an ABET–accredited engineering degree, a PE license, and at least seven years of project‑engineering experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree is required.
• PE license is required.
• 7+ years of direct project engineering experience managing design efforts for Design-only and EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for overhead transmission design teams on 69kV–500kV projects.
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members.
• Serve as primary technical contact for the client.
• Implement quality control processes and support proposal development.
• Coordinate project requirements and schedules across disciplines.
• Identify and communicate technical risks and production milestones.
