Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead complex transmission line projects from concept through design completion across 2.4kV to 345kV. You will oversee technical design staff, interact with clients, and ensure adherence to codes and standards.

The role requires ABET-accredited civil engineering education, PE preferred, and deep experience with transmission design software. Expect extensive collaboration with field personnel and other disciplines.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering degree with 7+ years in transmission engineering.
FE exam completed or in process with 7 years’ experience.
Master’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

Lead design from conceptual through completion for 2.4kV to 345kV projects.
Prepare equipment specs, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
Guide conductor selection studies, lightning performance, grounding calculations.
Coordinate with vendors, clients, and other disciplines; review drawings.
Lead project planning, budgeting, and change order management.
Provide mentorship and QA/QC across the engineering team.
