Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead complex transmission line projects. You will oversee technical design, guide staff, and ensure adherence to NESC, NERC, and FERC standards while coordinating with clients and suppliers.

You will mentor engineers, develop budgets, and drive quality across drawings and analyses. A PE license and EPC experience are preferred, with travel up to 20% expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil eng degree with 7+ years transmission exp. (EPC preferred).
• FE exam passed or PE licensure preferred; PE is a plus.
• Master's in Engineering with 6+ years transmission exp. (EPC preferred).
• Strong knowledge of transmission design codes and software tools.
• Experience leading large discipline design and delegating tasks.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission design from concept to design completion.
• Prepare equipment specs, RFQs, and bid summaries.
• Lead conductor selection studies and grounding calculations.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, NERC, and FERC standards.
• Quality review drawings and coordinate with field teams.
• Present technical reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA/QC adherence.
