Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technical Support Coordinator IV to own Tier 2 emergency roadside cases from start to finish.

You will decide when to call internal technicians or third-party providers and address mechanical or electrical issues on Ryder lease or contract vehicles. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, ability to work evenings and weekends on a Friday-Monday shift, and excellent communication with customers and the Ryder Response Center.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED required.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Five (5) years or more working in a Ryder Operations (shop) environment preferred.
• Two (2) years or more in Ryder operations direct customer service exposure preferred.
• Four (4) years or more in transportation maintenance required.
• Two (2) years or more in technical diagnostic and customer resolution exposure related to most major vehicle/engines in Ryder fleet required.
• Ability to work alternate shifts/evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess, troubleshoot and remedy vehicle roadside breakdowns with full autonomy of decisions related to cost and uptime improvement.
• Assist with follow ups, escalations, and service provider interactions in partnership with RCRC leadership; provide summaries and analysis.
• Provide updated technical knowledge to the maintenance team from OEM and internal sources.
• Mentor the Tier 1 call center team; provide status updates and periodic training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
