Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Senior Specialist - Technical Sales in Washington, DC area to drive large project opportunities and grow specialized product lines. You will present, demonstrate, and articulate value to customers and sales teams, steering both pre- and post-sales support with deep product expertise.

You will collaborate with account teams, travel as needed, and stay current on market trends to identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred; High School Degree or Equivalent required.
• 5+ years of sales experience in related industry; 3+ years electrical industry experience as a manufacturer or distributor.
• Strong communication skills and computer proficiency; ability to travel 25%–50%.

Responsibilities

• Calls on clients and representatives to advocate technical products or services.
• Provides technical services related to specified products.
• Researches customer needs and demonstrates technology solutions.
• Shares technical information with internal and external customers.
• Provides first line pre/post technical sales support for sales teams.
• Acts as domain expert for specified products and mentors others.
• Leads joint sales calls with customers and prospects.
• Assists account representatives in identifying new sales opportunities.
• Participates in ongoing training to maintain technical competency.
• Understands market conditions and identifies growth opportunities.
• Keeps abreast of industry trends affecting target markets.
• Promotes value-add products in competitive situations.
• Manages marketing, promotions and product launches within product lines.
• Maintains relationships with vendor product managers and selling resources.
