Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Senior Specialist - Technical Sales in Charlotte, NC to drive growth of specialized products through direct customer engagement and expert pre/post-sales support. You will present and demonstrate solutions, gather client needs, and partner with sales teams to close large projects.

The role requires 5+ years in sales within the electrical industry, strong communication, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering or Business.
• 3+ years Electrical industry experience as a manufacturer or distributor.
• 5+ year Sales experience in related industry.
• Strong communication skills; ability to convey complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Calls on client, management and representatives, to convince them of desirability of technical products or services offered.
• Provides technical services to clients relating to specified products.
• Makes sales contacts, researches customer needs and develops product and application information, demonstrating technology solutions for customers.
• Gathers, analyzes and shares technical information and solutions to internal and external customers.
• First line of pre/post technical sales support for sales teams.
• Expertise in specified technical products; acts as domain expert internally and externally.
• Leads joint sales calls with customers and prospects.
• Assists account representatives in finding new sales opportunities by teaching and guiding.
• Participates in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in product and complimentary product areas.
• Understands market conditions, competitive forces, and identifies areas for growth.
• Understands industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.
• Promotes value-add assigned products in competitive situations.
• Administers and implements marketing, promotion programs, and product launches from product businesses.
• Maintains excellent relationships with vendor product managers and other selling resources.
