Job summary

Vertex Inc. is seeking an experienced senior technical support professional to join a dedicated team in Oregon.

You will act as the final escalation point for complex client issues, providing expert troubleshooting across data-driven applications, databases, APIs, and enterprise systems. You will mentor less senior staff, draft knowledge base articles, and partner with product, engineering, and support teams to ensure technical readiness and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in technical support, application troubleshooting, or systems engineering in enterprise settings.
• Strong SQL and relational DB experience; REST/SOAP API work; Oracle and SAP environments; Linux/Unix exposure.
• Experience troubleshooting data-driven applications with XML sources and high-volume web services.
• Proven ability to handle high-stakes customer escalations with composure and judgment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final escalation point for highly complex client issues, delivering expert troubleshooting.
• Provide on-call support rotation and mentor less senior staff in technical skills.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to align customer needs with rollouts.
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles and best-practice documentation.
• Manage access to shared environments, databases, and on-prem/virtual instances.
