Job summary

VPG, a global leader in precision measurement sensing technologies, is seeking a Technical Sales Manager in the USA Midwest region. The role focuses on identifying new OEM customers, expanding relationships with existing clients, and driving cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Engineering, and QA to bring projects to successful completion.

The candidate should have 10+ years in industrial automation sales, strong negotiation and presentation skills, and reside in the Midwest to Mid-Atlantic

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics).
• 10+ years of sales and business development of Industrial Automation products to OEMs.
• Significant experience in sales of technical products.
• Strong business/finance background and experience.
• Knowledge of commercial transactional process involved with sales.
• Previous experience negotiating multi-year contracts with large, global OEMs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential new customers within the defined OEM market segment and region, qualify and develop them as necessary to achieve new business sales in line with company strategy.
• Pro-actively engage with existing customers within the defined OEM market segments and region in all activities both current and potential, with a view to maximize Sales and organic Sales growth
• Be the Face of the company; lead new development projects by pro-active contact with the prospect or customer, and VPG R&D, Engineering, QA and other associated parties to ensure timely and successful completion of the project. Manage development projects from conception to completion.
• Negotiate contracts, meet with purchasing, procurement and other key decision makers in order to establish firm and profitable customer relationships.
• Analyze and report key sales and project management data and forecast future expectations for the region.
