Job summary
VPG seeks a Technical Sales Manager in Detroit, MI, with mid-senior level experience in industrial automation sales to OEMs. Responsibilities include pursuing new customers, expanding current relationships, and leading cross-functional development projects with R&D, Engineering, and QA.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills are essential. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, 10+ years selling technical products, and a proven track record with multi-year
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Engineering is required.
- 10+ years of sales and business development experience in Industrial Automation/Sensors.
- Significant experience selling technical products to OEMs.
- Strong business/finance background and understanding of transactional processes.
- Experience negotiating multi-year contracts with global OEMs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must reside in the Midwest to Mid-Atlantic region.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential new OEM customers in defined market and region and develop them to meet sales targets.
- Proactively engage existing customers to maximize sales growth.
- Act as the face of the company; lead development projects with R&D, Engineering, QA and others.
- Negotiate contracts and secure profitable relationships with key buyers.
- Analyze and report sales data and forecast regional performance.
