Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect patient care in the operating room. You will prepare for a variety of operative/invasive procedures, maintain sterile technique, and ensure all instruments and equipment are ready for the surgeon and team.

You will also mentor staff and students, coordinate case setup and turnover, and adapt to the needs of different procedures while working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (American Heart Association)
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures that are timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entering the room.
• Assist with case setup and turnover; ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are complete and functional.
• Collaborate with the surgeon and team, adapt to procedures and surgeon preferences.
• Precept and mentor staff and students in planning for surgical events and case management.
