Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced surgical technologist to join our operating teams. You will assist surgeons, prepare for a wide range of operative procedures, and maintain the sterile field throughout the case, ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and functioning.

You’ll guide and mentor RNs and other technologists and adapt techniques to match surgeon preferences. In this role you’ll participate in case turnover, perform first scrubs and second scrubs as needed, and help

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Set up sterile field and remain scrubbed prior to patient entry.
• Assist in a variety of cases and adapt to case needs and surgeon preferences.
• Precept and mentor RNs and other staff; demonstrate surgical tech skills across specialties.
• Run mayo and instrument setup independently; manage case turnover and dressing application.
• Communicate clearly with the team; participate in on-call rotations as required.
