Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled surgical technologist to support surgeon-led procedures across multiple specialties. You will prepare sterile fields, scrub and assist with cases, and mentor teammates while maintaining patient safety and efficiency in the operating room.

The role requires BLS within 30 days, an associate degree or higher in Surgical Technology, and certification completion. On-call responsibilities and dynamic case coverage are part of the opportunity.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entering the room.
• Layout case back table and mayo stand for organized turnover.
• Collaborate with surgeon to anticipate case needs and adjust as required.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs in planning and surgical events.
• Perform first scrub, first assist and second scrub roles as needed.
• Close cases with dressing application and turnover, as directed.
