Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons, prepare operative fields, and support instrument handling across multiple specialties. This role requires scrubbing, set-up, running mayo, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure efficient procedures.

The position involves mentoring RNs and technologists, on-call shifts, and adherence to patient safety standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures ensuring timely and efficient setup.
• Instruments, equipment and suture are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entering the room.
• Run mayo and maintain organized back table for continuity between team members.
• Observe and anticipate case needs, coordinating with the surgeon as required.
• Mentor and precept staff and students to prep for surgical events.

Education

BLS Certification (AHA)
