Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect patient care in the operating room. You will assist surgeons, participate in case setup, and maintain sterile technique across multiple specialties.

A mentor role may be required to train staff and students, with on-call expectations and potential bonuses. The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology and BLS certification, with completion within 30 days, and possesses the required

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA) is required.
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology is required.
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures that are timely and efficient.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entering room.
• Assist in case setup to allow smooth back-table and mayo setup.
• Demonstrate adaptability with case variety and surgeon preferences.
• Mentor and precept RNs and surgical techs for case preparation and intraoperative needs.
• Support efficient turnover and post-case dressing application.
