Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a certified Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect care during operative procedures. You will assist surgeons, maintain sterile fields, and prep for a wide range of cases across specialties.

The role requires mentoring peers and training students, with on-call responsibilities including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position emphasizes collaboration with surgeons, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient case support, and contributing to unit

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology.
• Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures.
• Ensure instruments and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entry.
• Assist in case organization and back-table preparation.
• Collaborate with surgeon on case needs and techniques.
• Precept and mentor staff and students in surgical events.
• Be available for on-call hours, including after-hours and holidays.
