Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a surgical technologist to provide direct and indirect care, assist surgeons, and train staff and students. The role includes mentoring teammates and leveraging additional certification to improve efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities include preparing for various procedures, scrubbing in, and supporting intraoperative needs while ensuring patient safety and optimal case flow. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days as required by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Associate’s degree or certificate in surgical technology.
• New grads are accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Scrub and assist during operations, ensuring sterile field and instrument readiness.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for procedures.
• Assist with case turnover and dressing application.
