Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support diverse operative procedures. You will prepare sterile fields, arrange instruments, and assist surgeons, ensuring efficiency and patient safety throughout cases.

The role includes mentoring peers, precepting students, and adapting to surgeon preferences across multiple specialties. On-site duties require flexibility for call and shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certificate of Completion in Surgical Technology and an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Set up sterile field, scrub in, and ensure instruments are complete and functional.
• Collaborate with surgeon, mentor staff, and prepare for intraoperative events.
• Run mayo, provide first scrub/assist, and handle case turnover.
• Precept RNs and students; adapt to surgeon preferences and case needs.
