Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Surgical Tech to support direct and indirect care, assisting surgeons and performing operative procedures. The role requires training in sterile technique, instrument handling, and the ability to adapt to diverse cases across specialties.

You will mentor peers, prepare for intra-operative events, and ensure efficient case turnover while maintaining patient safety and privacy. On-call expectations may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• New grads welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timeliness and accuracy.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entry.
• Run Mayo setup and organize back table and mayo for efficient case flow.
• Mentor RNs and fellow technologists, guiding best practices.
• Assist during intraoperative events and plan for case changes as needed.
• Teach RNs to scrub on a variety of cases and ensure proper instrument availability.
